This section of Harbor Regional Center's website will offer tools to assist you to support optimal health and wellness for individuals with developmental disabilities. This information is especially important for service providers who are responsible for the care and supervision of clients in licensed homes or in supported living. It is also provided for any parent, family member or other caregiver who may find it beneficial.

The Medical Information Section includes a a guide to keeping important health history information handy, to provide to hospitals or health care professionals who are not already familiar with the individual. Links  have also been provided to information from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding Medicare Part D Reform and changes to coverage for prescription drugs.

Medical Information

Nutrition and Fitness
In this section you can obtain valuable information about HRC's own Get Fit! Not Fat! program, as well as information and websites devoted to nutrition and fitness for clients with disabilities.

Medical Directories
The Medical Directories section of our website includes information about local doctors who work with HRC clients and who often accept medical and/or medicare. Please contact providers directly for if you have questions about specific services or insurance.

H1N1 Information
Here are some fact sheets about the H1N1 flu virus, how flu and other germs travel, and about how to protect yourself and others. This page will be updated as new information is obtained.

Federal Assistance
A pdf copy of an informational Poster developed by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, which includes contact information for various benefits and human services available for anyone in need. (help is not limited to hurricane evacuees).
